My Merry Morning

 NL: In het laatste weekend van februari ging ik samen met mijn moeder naar de tentoonstelling: To Audrey With Love. Een ode aan Audrey Hepburn door Hubert de Givenchy. Van te voren hadden we ons ingeschreven voor een lezing over Audrey, en daar was ik achteraf erg blij mee. Ik was zelf namelijk nog niet zo bekend met het leven van beroemde actrice. Hoe ze opgroeide deels in Nederland, hoe ze was begonnen als actrice, haar ontmoeting met Givenchy en hun band die werd versterkt door de kleding, kwam allemaal aan bod in de presentatie. Een mooie inleiding op de tentoonstelling.

De tentoonstelling zelf vond ik ook erg mooi en uitgebreid. De kledingstukken kon je goed van dichtbij bekijken en het geheel was afwisselend met foto's, video's en muziek. De wanden met Givenchy's mode illustraties waren één van de hoogtepunten voor mij. Het feit dat hij in één van de video's ook beschrijft dat mode illustraties weer helemaal terug komen is voor mij van groot belang en het gaf veel inspiratie.
De outfits waren allemaal prachtig en elk had zijn eigen betekenis en verhaal. Vooral de stukken uit Audrey's films waren tof om in het echt te zien. Als je fan bent van Audrey dan ben je waarschijnlijk al naar deze tentoonstelling geweest, maar ik kan hem ook zeker aanraden aan iedereen die ook maar iets voor mode voelt :) De tentoonstelling loopt nog t/m 26 maart 2017, en is te zien in het Gemeente museum in Den Haag. Zijn jullie al naar deze tentoonstelling geweest? ENG: A few weekends ago I went to an exhibition about the close bond between Audrey Hepburn en Hubert de Givenchy. We went to a small presentation beforeh seeing the exhibition and I have to say that I'm really glad that we did. The presentation was very informative about Audreys childhood, her start as an actress, how she met Givenchy and how their bond got so strong. It was a great introduction to the exhibition.

The exhibition itself was very nice and big. The pieces of clothing could be closely observed and the whole exhitbition had a nice variety of clothes, pictures, videos and music. The fashion illustrations on the walls were the highlight for me. The fact that Givenchy says in one of the videos that fashion illustration is making it's comeback, gives so much motivation and inspiration. 
All the outfits where beautiful and have there own story. I love the outfits from the movies that Audrey plays in. It was cool to see the actual outfits that she wore, in real life. If you are a fan of Audrey Hepburn and you happen to be in The Netherlands between now and the 26th of March I recommend going to this exhibition in the Gemeente Museum in The Hague. Are you a fan of Audrey Hepburn?
