ENG: A while ago I told you that I had started working out again. When I still lived in Maastricht I worked out 3 to 4 times a week. To me that was a normal routine, but now it seems like a lot haha. My workout patern has really changed since I moved back to Haarlem last year. I started my internship and had so much on my mind. I noticed that at one point I wasn't working out at all anymore and it influenced the way I felt. I was tired all the time and moody. In May when I stopped with my internship I decided it was time for changes and I subscribed to a gym. I was convinced that the Pilates and Yoga lessons would do me good. But I learned that subscribing to a gym doesn't mean that you immediately work out more. For some reason I got bored so fast with the lessons and the 15 minute bike ride to the gym was just too much. At some point I went to the gym only once every two weeks. I wanted to work out at home but when I did I just felt bad because I was paying 30 euros a month for the gym. In January I made the decision to unsubscribe the gym, even though I still had to pay until May. It was such a relief. The moment I quit the gym I started working out at home a few ays a week. Every time I work out I feel so good and I have wayyy more energy! That is why today I want to share my favourite at home workout videos with youš So that you can feel great as well!
1. Ballet Beautiful by Mary Helen Bowers
I read somewhere that the Victoria's Secret angels get private lessons from Mary Helen Bowers, the founder of Ballet Beautiful, and when you watch her videos you know why. Mary has an amazing body and her workouts are super effective (every time I see her stretch I'm in shock, she is sooo flexible!). I love the peace of her videos as well; no yelling, no pumped up music, but concentration and peace.
2. Pop Pilates TURBO by Cassey Ho
During a workout I get bored and distracted easily (I start thinking about everything that has to be done for the day), so short videos like this '3 minute Butt Shaper' are perfect. Now you might think: 'a video of 3 minutes will do nothing for my butt...' But trust me! When you are done with this video you will feeelll the burn.
3. Abs workout by Fitness Blender
De meeste van jullie zullen ook wel bekend zijn met Fitness Blender. Dit koppel heeft al meer dan 200 workout videos op hun kanaal staan en plaatsen wekelijks nieuwe. Veel van hun videos vind ik te lang om helemaal af te maken, maar deze 10 minuten buikspier video is top! Het is fijn dat vooraf de oefening wordt voorgedaan en in de hoek een teller staat zodat je kunt zien hoelang de oefening nog duurt.

Naast het trainen van spieren vind ik het ook fijn om aan het einde van de training wat rek en strek oefeningen te doen. Door mijn werk heb ik vaak last van mijn rug en schouders, en deze yoga video helpt enorm om de pijn en druk te verlichten. Een aanrader om je workout mee af te sluiten.
Besides training muscles I aso think it's important to stretch them. For my work I sit behind a desk almost 8 hours in a row. These yoga stretches for your back and neck are amazing to get rid of the headache that you have after a day of work.

5. Inner Tights workout by Mary Helen Bowers
Daar is ze weer! Mary Helen Bowers heeft mijn workout hart gestolen kun je wel zeggen haha! Wat ik vooral echt fijn vind aan haar workouts is dat ze tussendoor de tijd neemt om te rekken en strekken. Cassey (van Blogilates) gaat bijvoorbeeld aan Ć©Ć©n stuk door met de workout en ik merkte dat daardoor mijn bovenbenen wel gespierd werden maar niet slanker. Door tussendoor steeds te rekken blijven je spieren lang en worden je benen dus eerder slank dan gespierd, bovendien helpt het om spierpijn te voorkomen :)

A surplus of her videos is that she takes the time to stretch inbetween the moves to keep the muslces long and lean. Cassey (from Blogilates) for example doesn't do this and only stretches at the end of a workout. I noticed that when I only did her workouts, my legs got more muscular, but not leaner. When you stretch inbetween the moves you will keep the mucles long and you also prevent muscle ache :)

Ik kijk normaal eigenlijk nooit workout videos maar ik denk wel dat ik aan nummer 2, 3 en 5 wel wat heb. Precies het gedeelte dat nodig 'bijgewerkt' moet worden :)
